Providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support whilst pushing for better cancer care. (www.macmillan.org.uk/Home.aspx) The reality is that during our lifetimes we will all know of someone, directly or indirectly, that will be affected. Macmillan 4x4 UK Challenge 2008 Entrants to the event have no prior knowledge of the details or route of the event but will have to compete both day & night, up to 1000 miles, with navigation tasks on both tarmac & special off road sections (no gps allowed!). This event attracts both celebrity personalities and media coverage. (www.mac4x4.co.uk) TEAM GR Based in the Scottish Highlands Team GR, comprising Chris Lane & Neil Turnbull in a Nissan Patrol GR, are competing in this long distance four wheel drive event. In conjuction with our sponsors we are aiming to maximise fund raising efforts for Macmillan Cancer Support. Chris & Neil have both undertaken off road drives for charities in the Scottish Highlands and are now focusing their efforts for Macmillan Cancer Support in this 2008 event. SPONSORSHIP/DONATIONS Sponsors will be offered graphics space on the vehicle which will be left in place untill the end of April 2008, we will also promote our sponsors at other events and here on our web page plus other Mac4x4 related pages. A great total of £100 raised so a big cheer for all involved. A special festive thank you for Kildermorie Estate and the people who turned up for a Boxing Day Run here in the Highlands. Organised by the Highland 4 Wheel Drive Club and the Kildermorie Estate a total of £260 was raised by the 25 assorted vehicles who gathered at Skiach Services to meet before a run into the hills using esate tracks. Braving the cold winds the festive outing finished with a trip to an open driving area with burn crossings and boulders for the more adventurous of the group.
